OMS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) & Orthodontics
Dimensional Imaging's DI3D™ facial 3D capture systems have been widely adopted for use in a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) and orthodontic applications.
These applications include replacing traditional 2D photography with 3D surface image capture for records and in combination with CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) data* for improved visualization and education.
*Leading 3rd party 3D CBCT viewing & planning software includes: Dolphin Imaging and Maxilim. -
Visual Perception
Dimensional Imaging's 3D and 4D technologies are being used for state of the art research in the field of Visual Perception.
Dimensional Imaging's systems are being used in the field of Visual Perception in a number of ways from generating highly realistic visual experimental stimuli to characatures and from analysing facial features and morphology to enhancing facial recognition and biometric techniques for security applications. -
Burns & Radiotherapy
Dimensional Imaging's DI3D™ facial 3D capture systems have been used in the manufacture of facial splints for use in the treatment of facial burns.
By using the high resolution 3D data captured using a DI3D™ system, these facial splints can be manufactured with no contact and no discomfort to the patient by avoiding traditional plaster casting methods.

Prosthetics & Orthotics
Dimensional Imaging's DI3D™ 3D capture systems have been used in the manufacture of foot orthoses and ankle foot orthoses.
By using the 3D data or 3D scan captured by our systems, these orthoses can be manufactured using CAD CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) techniques and without traditional casting procedures, offering significant savings of time and money.
